The Way You Work Changes This Summer

Published: June 23,2020

Technological developments constantly improve our capacity to work remotely and current forecasts show that this trend will still be in the spotlight even after social distancing guidelines are lifted this summer.

Kate Lister, President of Global Workplace Analytics, further estimates that “25-30% of the workforce will be working-from-home multiple days a week by the end of 2021”.

Now, the demand for flexibility from employees already existed, but it was often muffled by a lack of trust among managers and executives. Once having felt the taste of it (in terms of benefits, of course) and having proven to be productive even from a distance, the demand for telework can only be on the rise, and so is its acceptance among members of the board.

But that is not the only change in the workforce practice that we are going to see...

Those much-dreaded daily meetings will either move entirely online or they will become shorter, with fewer participants, and will be held less frequently. After all, there are plenty of software solutions to cater to all needs and you are already using a lot of apps with video call capabilities, like Slack, Skype, Chatwork or Whats App.

All these apps can be added to OneDock in order to benefit from a common interface, with easy access to your favorite tools and fewer distractions. Other SaaS apps in our directory can further help you customize your workstation to easily manage everything remotely. For instance, you can create a meeting agenda in Asana, to which you add discussion topics as tasks, and you can share files or important context before the meeting.

Remote team members can work together with planning, tracking and collaboration solutions such as Trello, Jira, Podio, Wrike, Basecamp or Microsoft Teams, while staying productive and on top of things with Todoist or Wunderlist.

Is time tracking an issue? No problem, you have Harvest. Need to take notes? Try Evernote or OneNote. You will digitize your notes, organize them neatly and share them with your colleagues, no matter where you work from.

In the end, keep in mind that work is no longer about a certain place. It is what you do, not where you do it. Stay organized with OneDock and productivity will find you!
